Disney Announces Multi-Year Distribution Agreement With YouTube TV: The Walt Disney Company announced a major multi-year distribution agreement with YouTube TV, restoring all Disney-owned networks to the platform and offering subscribers expanded access to premium sports, news, and entertainment content. As a result of the new deal, Disney’s full suite of channels—including ESPN and ABC—has already begun returning to YouTube TV screens nationwide.

A Landmark Deal Benefiting Millions of Viewers

The agreement introduces new ways for audiences to access Disney’s programming while also delivering more flexibility and value. After a tense two-week blackout that frustrated subscribers and disrupted major live sports broadcasts, the two companies reached a breakthrough that restores services and enhances future content options.

According to Disney, the partnership reflects a long-term vision for evolving consumer behavior. “This new agreement reflects our continued commitment to delivering exceptional entertainment and evolving with how audiences choose to watch,’’ said Disney Entertainment Co-Chairmen Alan Bergman and Dana Walden and ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro. “It recognizes the tremendous value of Disney’s programming and provides YouTube TV subscribers with more flexibility and choice. We are pleased that our networks have been restored in time for fans to enjoy the many great programming options this weekend, including college football.”

Key Features of the New Agreement

Under the expanded partnership, YouTube TV subscribers will gain several benefits, including:

  • Full carriage of Disney’s linear networks, such as ESPN channels, ABC-owned stations, Disney Channel, Freeform, FX Networks, and National Geographic.
  • Complimentary access to ESPN’s new direct-to-consumer service (Unlimited Plan) for all YouTube TV subscribers at no additional cost.
  • Integrated access to select ESPN Unlimited live and on-demand programming within the YouTube TV interface.
  • Inclusion of certain Disney networks in new genre-specific packages, offering more personalized viewing options.
  • Optional bundles featuring Disney+ and Hulu as part of select YouTube TV plans.

A Win for Fans and the Streaming Ecosystem

Ultimately, the restored partnership underscores how vital live sports and premium entertainment remain in the streaming landscape. With this multi-year deal, Disney strengthens its reach across digital platforms, while YouTube TV enhances its position as one of the most comprehensive live TV streaming services available.
