GALA Elects New Global Officers, Brinsley Dresden to Serve as Global Chairman: The Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance (GALA) has announced its newly elected global officers, marking a significant leadership transition that will take effect on January 1, 2026. In a major development, Brinsley Dresden, Partner and Co-Head of Advertising Law at Lewis Silkin (United Kingdom), has been elected as the new Global Chairman.

GALA confirmed that Daniël Haije, Partner at Hoogenraad & Haak (Netherlands), has been re-elected as Global Vice Chairman. Meanwhile, Allison Fitzpatrick, Partner at Davis & Gilbert (United States), will now serve as Global Secretary, and Jose Antonio Arochi, Partner at Arochi & Lindner (Mexico), has been named Global Treasurer.

A Leadership Transition After 12 Years

This election also signifies the end of an era, as Jeffrey A. Greenbaum, Managing Partner at Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz, steps down after an influential 12-year tenure as Global Chairman. However, to ensure continuity, he will remain on GALA’s Executive Committee as Immediate Past President.

Greenbaum expressed his enthusiasm for the new leadership, stating, “I am absolutely thrilled with Brinsley’s election as GALA’s new Global Chairman. As the long-time member from the United Kingdom, Brinsley and his firm have been extraordinary contributors to GALA. He is a great lawyer, colleague, and friend, and there is no one better suited to take on this role. Under Brinsley’s leadership, and with the election of Daniël, Allison, and Jose to global leadership roles, great things are in store for GALA.”

Dresden Outlines His Vision

Dresden, well-known for his thought leadership and expertise in global advertising law, emphasized the importance of GALA’s collaborative network. He said, “I am honored to have been elected to serve as GALA’s Global President, taking over from Jeff Greenbaum, who has led GALA with such distinction. Advertising and marketing are global in ambition but local in execution. GALA’s network brings together deeply experienced lawyers who understand both the regulatory frameworks and the practical realities of launching campaigns in markets across the world.”

Furthermore, Dresden highlighted key priorities for the alliance, noting that he aims to strengthen global collaboration, expand thought leadership, and support members navigating emerging issues such as sustainability claims, influencer marketing, AI-enabled advertising, and data-driven personalization.
