PVR INOX and Ikonz Studios Launch India’s First Full-Stack Holographic Cinema Advertising Platform: India’s cinema advertising landscape is undergoing a major transformation as PVR INOX, the country’s largest cinema exhibition company, partners with Ikonz Studios to launch India’s first full-stack, IP-driven holographic engagement platform. This landmark initiative signals a decisive shift from conventional cinema advertising formats to immersive, interactive brand experiences within physical cinema spaces.

Traditionally, cinema advertising relied heavily on on-screen commercials and static lobby displays. However, this new platform expands audience engagement beyond the screen. By introducing three-dimensional, real-time holographic interactions in cinema foyers and concourses, the initiative enables brands to capture attention before and after movie screenings, when audience dwell time is at its peak.

Immersive Technology Redefines Cinema Engagement

Powered by Ikonz Studios’ proprietary HXR (Holographic Extended Reality) technology and AI-driven experience intelligence, the platform allows brands to deploy life-like holographic content that audiences can actively interact with. As a result, cinema spaces are transformed into participatory environments that deliver high-recall brand moments rather than passive impressions.

Currently, the holographic engagement network is live across seven PVR INOX locations in Delhi and Mumbai. Building on this early success, the partners have announced a rapid expansion plan. A national rollout across 50 key PVR INOX cinemas is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026, offering brands a scalable and premium engagement ecosystem in high-footfall urban markets.

Celebrity and IP Integration Sets the Platform Apart

One of the platform’s most distinctive features is its ability to integrate celebrities and intellectual property into holographic experiences. Early activations have already demonstrated its impact. Notably, a campaign featuring Amitabh Bachchan for IDFC Bank used life-like holographic interactions to enhance brand trust, recall, and emotional affinity among cinema audiences.

Commenting on the launch, Gautam Dutta, CEO – Revenue and Operations, PVR INOX Ltd, said cinema has always commanded undivided attention and emotional immersion. He added that the holographic platform takes cinema advertising to the next phase by moving from passive exposure to immersive, interactive engagement. According to Dutta, the partnership with Ikonz Studios creates a scalable, future-ready ecosystem that allows brands to connect with audiences in a more intuitive, memorable, and impactful way.

A Future-Ready Advertising Ecosystem

Echoing this vision, Abinav Varma Kalidindi, CEO, Ikonz Studios, said the platform is designed to turn real-world spaces into interactive experiences where brands can meaningfully engage with audiences. By combining full-stack holographic technology with celebrity and IP integrations, he noted, brands can create moments that are both memorable and deeply engaging.

Cinema advertising has long benefited from extended dwell time and strong emotional engagement. Therefore, the addition of holographic, interactive touchpoints builds on these strengths. More importantly, it provides advertisers with measurable, high-impact brand interactions that go beyond traditional exposure and significantly enhance brand perception.

Key Features of the IKONZ × PVR INOX Platform

The newly launched platform offers a comprehensive set of capabilities, including:

  • Deployment of 3D holographic experiences in real-world cinema environments
  • Interactive and participatory audience engagements
  • Celebrity, film, and branded IP integrations to strengthen trust and recall
  • AI-driven experience logic for adaptive and dynamic interactions
  • Scalable execution across multiple cinema locations
  • Measurement-ready reporting for insights, optimisation, and performance tracking

Transforming the Future of Cinema Advertising in India

Designed as a long-term engagement infrastructure rather than a one-off activation, the IKONZ × PVR INOX platform positions holographic engagement as a premium advertising channel within India’s cinema ecosystem. With its planned nationwide expansion in 2026, the initiative is expected to redefine how brands connect with audiences in high-attention, experiential environments.

As brands increasingly seek immersive and meaningful consumer touchpoints, this pioneering collaboration places Indian cinema at the forefront of next-generation advertising innovation.
