lululemon Names Proven Brand Builder Heidi O’Neill as Chief Executive Officer: Lululemon Athletica Inc. has announced the appointment of Heidi O’Neill as its next Chief Executive Officer. The decision, unanimously approved by the company’s Board of Directors, follows an extensive global search for a leader capable of guiding the brand into its next phase of growth.

O’Neill will officially assume the role on September 8, 2026, joining the Board and operating from Vancouver, the company’s headquarters. Her appointment marks a significant moment for the premium athleisure brand as it seeks to deepen its global footprint and strengthen its connection with consumers.

“Heidi is an inspiring leader and proven, consumer-driven brand strategist,” said Marti Morfitt, Executive Chair of Lululemon’s Board. “She brings a rare ability to envision the future of a brand while building the structure needed to deliver on that vision. Her track record of driving breakthrough ideas at scale made her the clear choice to lead Lululemon forward.”

O’Neill brings more than three decades of experience across performance apparel, footwear, and sport. Most notably, she spent a significant portion of her career at Nike, Inc., where she played a pivotal role in the company’s transformation from a $9 billion enterprise into a $45 billion global powerhouse. Her leadership spanned product innovation, brand strategy, and digital transformation, helping redefine how global brands connect with consumers and athletes.

Earlier in her career, O’Neill held marketing roles at Levi Strauss & Co., working on the Dockers brand. She also brings governance and strategic insights from board positions at Spotify Technology, Hyatt Hotels, and Lithia & Driveway, further strengthening her credentials as a global business leader.

Speaking on her appointment, O’Neill emphasized Lululemon’s unique position in the market. “Lululemon is an iconic brand with something rare — genuine guest loyalty, a strong product ethos rooted in innovation, and a global platform still early in its potential,” she said. “My focus will be to accelerate product breakthroughs, deepen cultural relevance, and unlock growth across international markets.”

Until her arrival, interim co-CEOs Meghan Frank and André Maestrini will continue to lead the company. Both executives are expected to return to their previous senior leadership roles once O’Neill takes charge, ensuring continuity in strategy and execution.

Morfitt credited the interim leaders for maintaining strong operational momentum during the transition. “Meghan and André have demonstrated exceptional leadership, advancing our strategic priorities with agility and discipline,” she noted. “Their efforts, along with the strength of our leadership team, provide a solid foundation for Heidi to build upon.”

The leadership change comes at a time when Lululemon is intensifying efforts to enhance product innovation, expand into new markets, and elevate customer experience. With O’Neill at the helm, the company is positioning itself to capitalize on growing global demand for premium athletic and lifestyle apparel.
