Freepik Rebrands as Magnific, Reflecting Shift in AI-Driven Creative Industry: Digital content platform Freepik has announced its rebranding as Magnific, marking a strategic move to position itself as an integrated artificial intelligence-powered creative platform.

The company said the transition aligns with broader changes in the advertising and creative industries, where AI tools are increasingly being used for content production. Magnific reports annual recurring revenue of $230 million and adoption by more than 290 enterprise teams globally.

Organizations including Guess, DAMM, R/GA, Alain Afflelou, and BBC are among those using the platform for creative workflows such as asset generation, visual prototyping, and campaign scaling.

The company’s growth has also been noted by Andreessen Horowitz, which listed Freepik among leading generative AI web companies prior to the rebranding.

Industry Adoption Expands

According to company data, enterprise use of AI in creative production is increasing, with teams across advertising, media, and entertainment integrating such tools into regular workflows. Magnific’s Business plan, introduced in early 2026, reached over 1,000 subscriptions within weeks of launch and continues to add new users.

More than half of new enterprise users are adopting AI-based processes at the outset, indicating a shift from experimentation to operational use.

Changing Creative Landscape

The platform combines multiple functions—including image and video generation, audio tools, asset libraries, and collaborative workspaces—into a single system. It currently offers access to more than 200 million assets and multiple generative models.

Magnific also reports that a significant share of its new users identify as beginners, suggesting that barriers to entry in creative production are decreasing as AI tools become more accessible.

Evolving Role of Creativity

Chief Executive Officer Joaquín Cuenca Abela described the shift as part of a broader economic transition toward creativity-driven work. Industry observers note that such developments may influence how advertising agencies, brands, and independent creators produce and distribute content.

As AI adoption continues to expand, companies like Magnific are contributing to ongoing changes in the structure and processes of the global creative and advertising sectors.
