Unique X, Imagica EMS Sign Long-Term Deal to Transform Japan’s Cinema Advertising Market: Unique X and Imagica Entertainment Media Services (Imagica EMS) have announced the signing of a full long-term agreement, building upon their earlier Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

The strategic partnership establishes an exclusive collaboration aimed at modernizing and expanding the cinema advertising business across Japan. Under the agreement, Imagica EMS and its affiliated entities will represent and support Unique X in delivering its advanced suite of digital cinema solutions to sales agencies, exhibitors, and consumer brands in the Japanese market.

The initial phase of the collaboration will focus on Unique X’s flagship advertising management platform, AdvertisingAccord, along with its Programmatic and Self-Service Portal modules. These solutions are designed to enhance efficiency, optimize campaign delivery, and unlock new revenue streams within the theatrical advertising ecosystem. Currently, AdvertisingAccord delivers approximately 1.2 billion cinema advertising spots annually worldwide, helping agencies and exhibitors maximize returns.

In addition to advertising solutions, the partnership will also enable Imagica EMS to represent Unique X’s broader portfolio of cinema technologies. This includes the RosettaBridge Theatre Management System, part of a comprehensive suite that streamlines digital cinema operations, content delivery, and distribution workflows for film distributors and exhibitors.

Roger Harris, CEO of Unique X, described the agreement as a major milestone for the company’s global expansion. He noted that entering the Japanese market alongside a partner with deep industry expertise and a strong reputation positions Unique X for long-term growth and innovation in the region.

Unique Digital Limited, operating under the brand Unique X, is recognized globally for its digital cinema innovations, with a presence in over 100 countries. Its solutions support mission-critical cinema operations and advertising management across more than 45,000 screens worldwide.

Tadashi Aota, President and CEO of Imagica EMS, highlighted the strategic value of the collaboration, stating that the partnership brings together two industry leaders to deliver next-generation solutions. He emphasized that Unique X’s advanced software suite has the potential to drive new efficiencies and create additional revenue opportunities for clients across Japan.

Meanwhile, Imagica EMS, headquartered in Tokyo, remains a market leader in post-production and media services. With a legacy as Japan’s first film laboratory, the company provides a comprehensive range of services including visual effects, editing, localization, distribution, and film restoration.
