APO Group Earns Five Global Communications Awards in 2026: APO Group, a pan-African communications consultancy, has been recognised with five international industry awards during the first half of 2026, underscoring its growing influence in Africa’s public relations and strategic communications sector.

The company’s achievements were led by a Gold Award at the Africa SABRE Awards for its communications campaign for GITEX Africa Morocco 2025. The campaign generated more than 3,600 media placements across African and international media outlets and contributed to promoting Morocco as an emerging technology and innovation hub.

The Africa SABRE Awards are regarded as one of the communications industry’s most respected honours, with winners selected by an international panel of senior public relations professionals.
In another major recognition, APO Group received a Gold Stevie Award for Most Innovative Public Relations Agency of the Year. According to the judges, the consultancy delivered campaigns that generated more than USD 1.2 billion in public relations value and secured over 1,500 media features.
The consultancy also won two Global Brand Awards for its integrated communications work supporting the Global Africa Business Initiative. Additionally, the World Business Outlook Awards named APO Group South Africa’s Best Public Relations and Media Consultancy for the third consecutive year.
The company’s campaigns for GITEX Africa Morocco 2025 and the Basketball Africa League were also shortlisted for additional international industry awards during the first half of the year.
Commenting on the recognition, Bas Wijne, Chief Executive Officer of APO Group, said the awards reflected the company’s focus on delivering measurable business outcomes for clients.
“Awards matter to us only when they reflect client outcomes. A SABRE Gold is judged on placements, reach and business impact, not simply on the quality of the submission,” he said.
Founded in 2007, APO Group provides strategic communications, public relations, and media outreach services across all 54 African countries. Through its proprietary Africa Newsroom platform, the company distributes news to more than 250 Africa-focused media platforms and connects organisations with a network of over 450,000 journalists, analysts, investors, and policymakers worldwide.
APO Group works with a broad range of international and African organisations, including the African Development Bank Group, Africa CDC, Afreximbank, Nestlé, Emirates, Canon, Western Union, NFL, GITEX Global, and Cassava Technologies.
The latest international recognitions further strengthen APO Group’s reputation as one of Africa’s leading communications consultancies, reflecting its continued focus on delivering strategic campaigns with measurable impact across the continent.
