Walmart Brings Exclusive Collectibles, Celebrity Signings and Interactive Gaming to New York Comic Con 2026: Walmart is bringing an expanded collectibles experience to New York Comic Con, combining exclusive merchandise, celebrity and creator appearances, interactive role-playing activities and online shopping through its Walmart Collector Con platform.

Announced on October 8, Walmart’s activation marks the retailer’s second consecutive year at the popular pop-culture convention. The initiative aims to connect fans with their favourite characters, creators, entertainment franchises and collectibles, whether they attend the event in person or participate online.

The 2026 programme features Walmart-exclusive products, more than 350 Scan & Purchase items, exclusive comic giveaways, five major talent signings and 25 livestreams throughout the four-day convention.

Exclusive collectibles headline Walmart’s offering

One of the main attractions is an early opportunity to purchase the G.I. Joe Classified Series Retro Cardback Collaborative Lara Croft TOMB RAIDER 6-inch action figure, produced by Hasbro. The figure is scheduled for a broader release on November 1, 2026, with a limited quantity available for immediate purchase at Walmart’s convention booth.

Other featured Walmart-exclusive products include:

  • DC McFarlane Collector Edition: Batman and Spawn two-pack featuring fabric capes.
  • Dawn of Justice Knightmare Batman: A collectible figure.
  • Godzilla Minus One: A Banpresto art vignette based on the 2023 film.
  • One Piece Collector Box: A collection from Culture Fly.

Beyond these featured products, collectors can explore trading cards, coins, comics, sports memorabilia, collectible toys and other merchandise through Walmart’s online collectibles store.

Leading comic creators and personalities meet fans

Walmart’s programme includes five scheduled talent signings, offering attendees opportunities to connect with established names in comics and popular culture.

The announced appearances include:

  • Arthur Adams — Thursday, October 8, at noon.
  • Gary Vaynerchuk (Gary Vee) — Thursday, October 8, at 3 p.m.
  • Todd McFarlane — Friday, October 9, at 10:30 a.m.
  • Greg Capullo — Friday, October 9, at 4 p.m.
  • Stan Sakai — Saturday, October 10, at 2 p.m.

The lineup brings together artists, comic-book creators and a prominent entrepreneur and media personality, reflecting the diverse interests of modern fandom communities.

The Collector’s Quest brings fictional worlds to life

A major interactive attraction at Walmart’s booth is The Collector’s Quest, a role-playing experience developed specifically for New York Comic Con.

Participants select a character and enter one of four themed worlds: fantasy, horror, science fiction or superheroes. They make strategic choices, collaborate with other players and attempt to complete the quest before rolling a die for a chance to win prizes.

Featured exclusive comic prizes include Doom #1 from Marvel, Batman #497 from DC Comics, VeeFriends Special Edition C, Last Yojimbo Ashcan #1 from Dogu Publishing and Terminal #3 from Skybound.

The experience adds an element of interactive entertainment to the traditional convention shopping experience, encouraging fans to engage directly with stories and characters rather than simply browse merchandise.

Walmart extends Comic Con beyond New York

Recognising that not every fan can attend the convention in person, Walmart is also bringing the event to online audiences through its Collector Con platform.

The retailer plans to host 25 livestreams across all four days of New York Comic Con, featuring creators, brands, publishers and collectible products. Scheduled participants include Todd McFarlane, Gary Vee and Stan Sakai, alongside brands such as Hasbro, Bandai Namco and Pudgy Penguins.

The livestreams will feature product launches, reveals, interviews, unboxings and shopping opportunities. Fans can watch the broadcasts at Walmart.com/live, while the broader selection of collectibles is available through Walmart Collector Con.

Collectibles emerge as a fan-engagement opportunity

Walmart’s expanded presence illustrates how major retailers are using entertainment properties, limited-edition merchandise, interactive experiences and digital commerce to build stronger relationships with customers.

Comic conventions bring together communities built around comics, movies, television, anime, gaming and collectible culture. For retailers, these events offer opportunities to introduce exclusive products, engage with enthusiasts and extend purchases beyond the convention floor.

By combining physical experiences with livestreaming and online shopping, Walmart is seeking to reach both convention attendees and a broader audience of collectors.

The 2026 edition of New York Comic Con runs from October 8 to 11 at the Javits Center in Manhattan and marks the convention’s 20th anniversary. Walmart’s initiative adds a major retail component to the celebrations, connecting collectibles, entertainment and digital commerce in one integrated experience.
