MEPRA Qatar Leadership Majlis 2026 to Examine the ‘New Architecture of Influence’: The Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA) is set to bring together senior leaders from government, business, media and communications at the 2026 MEPRA Qatar Leadership Majlis on September 10 at W Doha, with discussions focused on how organisations can navigate a rapidly changing communications environment.

Held under the theme “The New Architecture of Influence,” the Leadership Majlis will explore how geopolitical developments, regional conflicts, economic uncertainty, artificial intelligence and changing media consumption habits are reshaping the way information is produced, distributed and trusted across the Middle East.

Focus on the Future of Communications
The 2026 edition will feature a combination of panel discussions and interactive conversations examining the changing role of communications professionals and the strategies organisations need to remain influential.
Topics will include the impact of AI on communications and events, changing approaches to event-led strategies, and new ways of measuring the effectiveness of communications campaigns.
The programme will particularly examine how communications teams are using AI tools to plan, execute and report on events, while also looking at how event strategies vary across business-to-business (B2B), business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-government (B2G) environments.
Another key area will be measuring impact beyond conventional indicators such as attendance figures and media coverage.
From Message Control to Building Trust
MEPRA Chair Justin Kerr-Stevens said the role of communications has evolved significantly, moving beyond simply controlling organisational messaging.
“The role of communications has changed. It’s no longer just about controlling the message,” Kerr-Stevens said.
He emphasised the growing importance of helping organisations make better decisions, establish trust before crises emerge and navigate uncertainty with confidence.
According to Kerr-Stevens, the Qatar Leadership Majlis will bring together leaders from across government, business, media and communications to share practical experiences, challenge conventional approaches and examine what the new architecture of influence means for organisations operating in today’s Middle East.
Practical Learning Takes Centre Stage
Building on feedback from the previous Leadership Majlis, this year’s event will place greater emphasis on practical application and real-world experience.
Rather than focusing exclusively on theoretical discussions, the sessions will provide participants with opportunities to examine what is working, what is not, and how communications practices are evolving across the region.
The organisers aim to create an environment where senior professionals can openly exchange experiences, challenge established practices and identify approaches that can be implemented within their own organisations.
AI and Changing Media Landscape
Artificial intelligence is expected to be a major component of the discussions, reflecting its growing influence on communications, content creation, event management and reputation strategies.
At the same time, changing media habits are forcing organisations to reconsider how audiences consume and evaluate information.
The combination of AI-generated content, rapidly changing digital platforms, geopolitical uncertainty and growing expectations around transparency is creating a more complex environment for communications professionals.
The Leadership Majlis will explore how organisations can remain trusted, resilient and influential amid these changes.
Bringing Regional Leaders Together
The MEPRA Qatar Leadership Majlis is designed for senior professionals working across government, business, media and communications, as well as executives responsible for reputation management, stakeholder engagement, corporate affairs and organisational strategy.
The event will provide a platform for peer learning and candid discussions among decision-makers and communications leaders operating across the Middle East.
With influence increasingly shaped by technology, trust, data, geopolitics and rapidly changing audience behaviour, the 2026 MEPRA Qatar Leadership Majlis is positioned as a forum for examining how organisations can adapt to the region’s emerging communications landscape.
