PRISA to Host PRISMS Summit 2026, Bringing Africa’s Communications Industry Together: The Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa (PRISA) is set to host the PRISMS Summit & Awards 2026, bringing together public relations and communications professionals, industry leaders, agencies and emerging practitioners from across Africa for three days of learning, networking, knowledge exchange and recognition of excellence.
The PRISMS Summit will take place on October 22–23, 2026, followed by the PRISMS Gala on October 24, at the Indaba Hotel, Spa and Conference Centre in Johannesburg.

A Platform for Africa’s Communications Professionals
The PRISMS Summit is designed to create a platform where communications professionals can connect, exchange ideas and explore the changing role of public relations across Africa and the global communications landscape.
As organisations across the continent navigate digital transformation, artificial intelligence, changing consumer behaviour and increasingly complex stakeholder expectations, the communications profession is taking on a more strategic role.
The summit provides an opportunity for practitioners to discuss emerging trends, share successful approaches and explore how communication can help organisations build trust, strengthen reputations and create meaningful engagement.

Celebrating Excellence in African Communications
A key component of the event will be the PRISMS Awards, which recognise outstanding communications campaigns, professionals and organisations.
The awards provide an opportunity to highlight innovative work and demonstrate the impact that strategic public relations and communications can have across different sectors.
For Africa’s growing communications industry, such recognition also helps showcase the continent’s creative talent, strategic thinking and ability to develop campaigns that connect with diverse audiences.
Technology, AI and the Future of PR
Artificial intelligence and digital technologies are rapidly changing the communications profession. From content creation and data analytics to audience engagement and reputation management, technology is creating both new opportunities and new challenges for communicators.
The PRISMS Summit is expected to provide a forum for professionals to examine how AI, technology, data and human creativity can work together to shape the future of public relations.
The conversation is particularly relevant for Africa, where digital adoption is creating new ways for organisations, brands and communities to communicate across borders.
Connecting Established and Emerging Talent
The summit will also create opportunities for experienced communications leaders to interact with emerging professionals entering the industry.
PRISA has placed emphasis on developing the next generation of communications practitioners through initiatives focused on mentorship, professional development and skills transfer.
By bringing different generations of communicators together, the PRISMS platform can help strengthen professional networks and encourage knowledge sharing across Africa.
Building a Stronger African Communications Industry
Africa’s communications landscape is increasingly diverse, with professionals working across public relations, advertising, marketing, digital media, corporate communications, government communications and strategic reputation management.
The PRISMS Summit provides a common platform for these professionals to exchange perspectives and explore how the industry can continue to evolve.
Beyond awards and networking, the event is positioned as an opportunity to examine the future of communications in Africa, particularly as businesses and institutions seek to engage increasingly connected and digitally sophisticated audiences.
Looking Beyond Borders
The significance of PRISMS extends beyond its host country. With African markets becoming increasingly interconnected and African brands gaining international visibility, the need for strong, ethical and innovative communications has never been greater.
The PRISMS Summit & Awards 2026 offers an opportunity for Africa’s communications community to celebrate its achievements, learn from one another and develop ideas that can influence the future of the profession across the continent.
At a time when trust, technology and storytelling are becoming increasingly important to organisations, PRISMS aims to put African communications talent, creativity and leadership at the centre of the conversation.
